KENDAL MODEL RAILWAY CLUB

POLVERYAN

Polveryan came to the Kendal Model Railway Club at the bequest of the late William Firman of Grange. A fictitious branch terminus in Cornwall, as far as we know, it was never intended to be an exhibition layout. However, we felt it was too good to be kept to ourselves and decided to make it available for exhibitions. Since its arrival at the club we have extended it to include the dairy and a new fiddle yard, but much of the original town and terminus has been retained. Still a work in progress, we have set the time period to either side of nationalisation in 1948, which gives us the excuse to run trains in pre and post nationalisation liveries.
