A comparison shot of progress on Dalehead. This is the viaduct area, with pier supports sketched in from plywood.
The station area with over-bridge taking shape. The quarry will be off to the right.
A different view of the station area, showing the plywood open-frame structure underlying the contours.
Dalehead's fiddle yards and hidden tracks are on multiple levels and hidden under the scenic boards.
The fiddle yard track is built from copper-clad sleepers and bullhead rail. Wiring is colour coded for ease of fault finding.
A view down the bank, before track laying gets to this point. The many yards of walls are appearing though!
Track starting to extend down the bank. The goods yard will be in the far corner. To the lower right will be a village scene.
Another view along the bank. Some of the small DAS stones used in wall building are resting on the cork underlay.
The viaduct starts to take shape, with the stone arches being scribed in DAS modelling clay.
This bridge carries a lane over the main lines. The lane continues under the branch line - which is the right hand track bed.
The main line track starting to extend away from the station area. The space for the goods yard is top right.
A view along the station area. Scenic track is built with laser cut wooden sleepers, solvent welded chairs and bullhead rail.
The main line curves away into a tunnel as it leaves the station. The quarry branch is in the foreground.
The dramatic gorge leading to the tunnel.
Station throat trackwork coming along well. All pointwork is hand built.
The 'top' end of the station with quarry branch curving away to the right.
Dalehead plan, showing track layout on the visible, scenic areas.
